Boundaries That Don’t Need Justification
Letter Ø21: You don’t owe anyone an essay for saying no.
Most of us learned that boundaries have to come with an explanation.
“I can’t because I’m too busy.”
“I’m sorry, I just have a lot going on.”
“I’d love to, but I…”
We pad our “no” with reasons. We soften it with apologies.
We try to make the other person feel better about our limits.
But here’s the truth:
A boundary is not a debate.
It’s a declaration.
